Crews Sent For Road Repairs Throughout The Valley

Following Tuesday’s heavy rainfall, the City of Phoenix has dispatched crews to clear downed trees and mud and fix potholes.

And the intersection of 35th Avenue and Cactus Road remains closed due to a massive sinkhole. Monica Hernandez, spokeswoman for the Phoenix Transportation Department, said for now the city is focusing on temporary solutions.

“It looks like we may see some storm activity this weekend, so as a result, we’re going to focus on temporary repairs, and following the possible storm scenario this coming weekend, we will begin to focus on the permanent repair," Hernandez said.

Hernandez said drivers should be aware of crews working throughout the day and report any potholes and objects in the roadway to the city's 24/7 Hotline at 602-262-6441. Updated street restrictions and closures can be found on the Transportation Department’s website.
