Hundreds Of Undocumented Immigrants Arrested Along Arizona Border

Early Tuesday morning, Border Patrol agents found a group of 61 immigrants they’d searched for since Monday night in the Lukeville, Arizona, area. A member of the group had called Mexican police for help who in turn called the Border Patrol.

Officials said the group was made up of mostly Guatemalan and Honduran families, including a seven month old child and a 66-year-old.

Later that day, agents from the Yuma Sector found 164 immigrants in a five hour period. Agency officials from that sector said 88 of those were children, some as young as 3 months old.

The arrests follow a pattern of large groups of immigrants apprehended in Arizona’s West Desert.
