"The Givers: Wealth, Power and Philanthropy in the New Gilded Age" by David Callahan.

It’s not hard to come up with the name of someone who’s given a lot of money to a particular cause: Michael Bloomberg, the Koch Brothers and Tom Steyer are among the most prominent.

But, philanthropy is having a bigger impact on public policy and society than that. David Callahan writes about this in his book " The Givers: Wealth, Power and Philanthropy in the New Gilded Age."

Callahan is the founder and editor of Inside Philanthropy and joined The Show to talk about this.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
