Do You Know Which Judges Are On The Ballot?

The ballots Arizona voters are getting in their mailboxes are pretty full – a Senate race, Congressional contests, all statewide offices, legislature and a handful of ballot measures, among other elections.

But, voters are being encouraged to not skip one section towards the end of the ballot — the retention of judges.

Mike Hellon, chairman of the Arizona Judicial Performance Review Commission spoke with The Show as we asked him how easy or difficult it is to get voters to know there are judges on the ballot, and have those voters learn something about those judges to be able to make an informed decision about whether to retain them or not.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
