There’s been talk for years in Arizona that the Latino vote here will turn the state blue — or at least a new shade of purple.
In 2016, the group One Arizona aimed to get more than 100,000 of those voters registered, but after election day, their effect appeared underwhelming. This year, they just announced they’ve registered 190,000 new voters.
But around the country, there are Democratic strategists who are concerned there’s an enthusiasm gap, that Latino voters might not show up to the polls.
But that’s not what Edward Vargas has found. He is a senior analyst for Latino Decisions, a Latino-focused polling and research firm, which just released a new statewide poll of Arizonans with an oversampling of Latinos.
The Show spoke with Vargas more about it and asked him about this enthusiasm gap.
