Believe it or not there are about 100 earthquakes every year in Arizona.
It’s just that most of them we never feel. In fact, the last time an earthquake was really felt in our state was back in 2014, when a magnitude 5.3 quake struck near Duncan in Eastern Arizona.
But, one day we probably will be hit by a big quake — and some parts of our state are more at risk than others.
That’s why thousands of schools across the state will participate in the Great Arizona ShakeOut.
Thursday morning, a nationwide earthquake drill will take place, and Michael Conway with the Arizona Geological Survey joined The Show to walk us through it.
