Why The Arizona Water Conservation District Board Is Important

Supported by Intel

Your Nov. 6 ballot is extremely crowded. By now, you probably know about the U.S. Senate race, the various congressional battles and even the statewide offices.

But further down on the list — yet especially important considering our long-term drought — you’ll find names of people running for the 15-member Central Arizona Water Conservation District Board, which is also known as the CAP Board.

The board manages the water that Arizona brings in from the Colorado River.

To help understand more about the board — and generally what type of candidates are running for it — Rhett Larson, associate professor of law at ASU and a Senior Research Fellow at the Kyl Center for Water Policy, joined The Show.
