Growing Interest In ASMR — What Some Call 'Internet's Most Boring Videos'

There are obviously lots of videos one can watch online, from sports, to music, to cats.

But, a growing number of people are choosing to watch videos of someone crumpling paper, shaking a tea bag, or even Bob Ross paint.

These are all ASMR videos, which stands for autonomous sensory meridian response, and is sometimes referred to as “brain tingles.”

Craig Richard is a physiology professor at Shenandoah University in Virginia, and the founder of ASMR University.

He joined The Show to explain what this is all about.

Mark Brodie is a co-host of The Show, KJZZ’s locally produced news magazine. Since starting at KJZZ in 2002, Brodie has been a host, reporter and producer, including several years covering the Arizona Legislature, based at the Capitol.
