First Part Of Caravan Passes Through Sonora, Now In Tijuana

Several hundred mostly Honduran migrants passed through Sonora Monday on their way to Tijuana, according to reports in the Sonoran newspaper El Imparcial. They arrived in the border city near San Diego this morning.

That is just a small contingent of the full caravan, which has several thousand members. The larger group is also expected to pass through Sonora en route to Tijuana, according to an interview with a photographer accompanying the caravan published by the online outlet Proyecto Puente today.

They are expected to arrive in Hermosillo by the end of the week, and could stay a few days. Local authorities are preparing resources for that likely arrival.
