Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport is in the midst of a complete remodel of Terminal 3. The work is scheduled to finish up in 2020. After the new concourse opens, Terminal 2 will no longer serve passengers.
But, Krishna Patel with the airport says the famous mural inside Terminal 2 will be saved.
“It’s going to be relocated to a building somewhere on airport property that’s going to be accessible to the public where they can appreciate it and view it as well,” she said.
After the mural is relocated, the rest of Terminal 2 — which opened in 1962 — will be demolished.
