When Did The Gig Economy Begin?

When some people think of the gig economy, companies like Uber, Lyft, Etsy and Ebay quickly come to mind. But a Cornell University professor says the seeds of the gig economy were planted long before.

Louis Hyman is an economic historian and author of the book " Temp: How American Business and the American Dream Became Temporary."
