Cloudy Water In Mesa For The Holiday Season

Mesa residents and businesses may notice cloudiness in their water from now through January.

Kathy Macdonald, spokeswoman for the city’s water resources department said those who live and do business between the Loop 101 and Val Vista, north of Baseline, could be affected.

“This is actually caused by small air bubbles when we switch from surface water to groundwater production wells as we perform routine maintenance at our Val Vista water treatment plant.”

Macdonald said up to 60,000 household and business customers combined could experience cloudiness in their water, but she notes it is safe to drink and will not harm plumbing or appliances.

Anyone with concerns is advised to call the city's water quality division at 480-644-6461.
