This past legislative session, a last-minute bill was introduced requiring Arizona Department of Child Safety workers to obtain warrants before removing children from abusive homes with the exception of immediate, dangerous circumstances.
With its subsequent passage, a new burden of proof for removals was set, but as Mary Jo Pitzl with the Arizona Republic found, 1,900 children were removed from their homes in the last four months alone.
Pitzl joined The Show to talk about what she found.
