St. Vincent De Paul Seeking Volunteers

Thanksgiving week is over and done. But it’s not too late to volunteer to help charities.

Nonprofits such as St. Vincent de Paul rely on 250 volunteers daily to prepare more than 3,000 meals for Arizonans in need.

Jessica Berg with St. Vincent’s says there are dozens of opportunities in just as many locations around the Valley, including the monthly Hearts & Hands program where adults and children of all ages can help make sack lunches.

“One of my favorites is we take labels off of traditional water bottles.  The kids make their own labels with a message of hope and inspiration. So, we’re basically sending love notes to people who really don’t have enough love in their lives,” she said.

Berg says they need 250 volunteers a day throughout the year to help in kitchens, gardens and thrift stores. In many cases, the only experience needed is the desire to help.
