Artificial Intelligence To Be Used In Safeway Stores Around Arizona

Self-guided medical stations, using artificial intelligence and augmented reality, may soon be coming to a grocery store near you.

Arizona State University students helped develop the technology with Akos Medical Center and AdviNOW Medical. The AI clinics will be installed at Safeway stores across the Valley, beginning this week.

James Bates is the CEO of AdviNOW Medical and said artificial intelligence is the future for all medical clinics.

“I can’t imagine 10 years from now anyone going to the doctor the way they do today," Bates said. "Every engagement will be with an AI. I imagine a doctor will still review all of the results, it won’t be a complete robot doctor, but ultimately, this is the future, and Tempe, Arizona, has it first.”

Bates also said pairing with Safeway will allow AdviNOW Medical to open 50 of the clinics across the state in as soon as 6 months.
