ASU Economic Forecast Panel Aims To Predict Future Market

2018 has been a strong year for the U.S. economy with unemployment extremely low, the GDP at very healthy levels and wages starting to catch up with job growth. But the stock market has been volatile, and there isn’t much optimism about the impact of the tariffs the Trump administration has implemented.

So, optimism continues into 2019, but for how much longer than that?

Later today, ASU’s W.P. Carey School of Business will hold its annual Economic Forecast Luncheon. The Show spoke with ASU economist Lee McPheters and the event’s keynote speaker John Cochrane of Stanford University about what they’re looking at for the 2019 economy — nationally and in Arizona.

We started by discussing whether they're concerned about any dark clouds on the horizon for the economy, and the dreaded "r" word: recession.
