Arizona Rep. David Stringer Facing Calls For His Resignation Over Racist Comments

Arizona Rep. David Stringer answers questions in June 2018 about his comments, which were interpreted by some as racist.

For the second time in five months, Rep. David Stringer of Prescott Arizona’s 1st Legislative District made racist comments to a crowd.

This time his words were recorded and released to the media, and now calls for his resignation are rolling in — and House Speaker Rusty Bowers has stripped him of a committee chairmanship.

The Phoenix New Times obtained a recording of Rep. Stringer making new racist remarks last week.

The taped comments are similar to his June speech at the Yavapai County Republican Men's Forum, where he explained his views that minorities don’t blend in.

“There are not enough white kids to go around,” he said.

Katie Campbell, House reporter for the Arizona Capitol Times, joined The Show to talk more about the controversy.
