Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is again calling for state Rep. David Stringer to resign.
The announcement comes two weeks after Stringer’s statements that African and other non-Caucasian immigrants don’t “blend in” when they immigrate to the United States.
Calling those comments “disqualifying,” Ducey says he agrees with incoming Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers to ask for Stringer to step down as chair of the Sentencing Recidivism Reform Committee.
"I’m going to be respectful of the voters and of a separate and co-equal branch. But I will say I’m supportive of the Speaker’s actions in stripping him of his committee.”
Stringer stated this summer that mass immigration poses an existential threat to the United States, drawing fire from state Republican leaders.
