Alison Goldwater Working To Digitize Grandfather Barry's Photographs

Barry Goldwater is known for a lot of things.

He was a U.S. Senator, a GOP presidential nominee and a pilot, among others.

But he was also an accomplished photographer. And now, his granddaughter, Alison, is working to curate and digitize 15,000 of his images, with the goal of creating a virtual library. She’s executive director of the Barry and Peggy Goldwater Foundation.

There’s also an exhibit planned for January at Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, featuring some of Barry Goldwater’s photos, cameras and journals.

The Show spoke with Alison Goldwater about her grandfather’s photography.

Robert Stieve, editor-in-chief of Arizona Highways Magazine, also joined The Show to talk about their December issue, which is dedicated to the late senator’s photos.
