Last week, Border Patrol agents fired tear gas at a group of migrants trying to cross into the United States from Tijuana, Mexico.
The incident was roundly criticized, although President Donald Trump and his administration defended the use of tear gas. The president also said he’d authorized the use of lethal force if necessary along the border.
To talk about the border patrol’s use of force is Josiah Heyman, director of the Center for Inter-American and Border Studies at the University of Texas-El Paso.
