Flagstaff City Council Approves Changes To Vaping In Public

The city of Flagstaff is reducing the number of places e-cigarette smokers may vape.

Councilman Jim McCarthy said a new ordinance that takes effect Jan. 10 will treat vaping like traditional tobacco products.

“Vaping e-cigarettes and regular cigarettes will not be allowed in indoor businesses," said McCarty. "They’re not allowed in Flagstaff in city parks or cemeteries. But anywhere else outside, walking down the street or whatever, it’s still legal.”

McCarthy added that the City Council is also considering increasing the age to 21 to buy tobacco products in Flagstaff.
