Health Economists Still Studying Ways To Bring Health Care Costs Down

Congress approved the Affordable Care Act (ACA) more than eight years ago, and it continues to be a political flashpoint, both in Arizona and in Washington, D.C.

The current open enrollment period ends on Friday, and in advance of that, The Show is looking at the issue of health care in a series of conversations.

The Show looked at the issue of cost containment or, in plain English, trying to keep health care costs down — or at least from going up too much.

It was one of the aims of the ACA, but research suggests that might not be happening.

To talk about this, The Show reached out to health economist Mark Pauly, a professor of health care management at the Wharton School.
