Is Barbie Back? New Documentary Tracks Classic Doll's Evolution And Revolution

Barbie. We all know her, some of us love her, some of us hate her. But, since she was introduced in 1959, it’s clear that Barbie has become much more than a doll.

In her new documentary, "Tiny Shoulders: Rethinking Barbie," Andrea Nevins tells the story of Barbie — from revolutionary to retro — and the doll’s relationship with feminist movements.

Today, Mattel, the maker of Barbie, has reinvented the classic doll. Nevins went inside Mattel to document the undertaking, and what it says about what it means to be a girl today.

The Show spoke to her about what she found.

You can watch her documentary on HULU now.
