If you look at retail sales, industrial production and employment, the U.S. economy is doing well.
But how long can this economic boom keep going? Losses in the U.S. stock market continued Monday and these extensive losses have knocked U.S. indexes to their lowest levels in more than a year. And, the Federal Reserve’s Open Market Committee is in the midst of its year-end meeting today.
To try to sort this out, David Wessel, director of the Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy at the Brookings Institution, joined The Show.
