After Proposition 305 Success, Save Our Schools Arizona Sets Sights On 2019 Legislative Session

Save Our Schools Arizona collected more than 111,000 signatures

Save Our Schools Arizona collected more than 111,000 signatures in their effort to put the question of ESA expansion before voters in 2018.

Arizona voters handily defeated Proposition 305 last month, blocking a state law that would have expanded Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Accounts, sometimes referred to as vouchers.

But the law was only on the ballot because a new group called Save Our Schools Arizona formed, and gathered volunteers to collect more than 100,000 signatures to refer it.

So, now that the election is over, and Save Our Schools won, what’s next for the group?

The Show sat down with two of its co-founders, Beth Lewis and Dawn Penich-Thacker, to talk about that.
