The Scottsdale Unified School District approved a settlement Thursday with the architecture firm at the center of multiple problems with construction projects.
Architecture firm Hunt and Caraway worked on controversial rebuilds of Hopi, Pima and Hohokam Elementary Schools as well as other projects in the district.
Community complaints eventually led to an Arizona Attorney General investigation and the departure of the district’s superintendent.
Hunt and Caraway disagreed with the district over how much money was owed over completed and in-progress projects.
The settlement ends that dispute. The district agreed to pay Hunt and Caraway $350,815.
The architecture firm will in turn repay the district $16,485. 63 for the uncompleted Central Kitchen Project and waive $105,427.50 in fees for Hohokam and $46,410 for the Hopi and Pima Projects.
