A hostage situation at an Arizona State prison was resolved without injury Wednesday morning and the inmate responsible will face new charges.

Timothy Monk, an inmate at Arizona State Prison Complex-Lewis in Buckeye, took a library employee hostage around 8 a.m.

According to a  statement from the Arizona Department of Corrections, Monk used a knife made in prison, also known as a shiv, and demanded to leave the complex. Tactical support personnel were able to free the employee.

Monk is currently serving 97 years in prison.
