Can Passenger Rail Work In Arizona?

The idea of taking passenger rail between Phoenix and Tucson — rather than braving I-10 traffic in the car — isn’t a new one.

Financing, however, is daunting. The projected costs would go well past a billion dollars. And this is a place where many of us want to be in our cars, no matter the congestion.

But a group called All Aboard Arizona is working to get rail service between the state’s two largest cities, and 2019 could be a vital year for that.

To talk about that, Tony Trifiletti, executive director of All Aboard Arizona, joined The Show.
