Maricopa County Sues Opioid Makers

Maricopa County has sued more than a dozen pharmaceutical companies, arguing they helped cause the nationwide opioid epidemic.

Among other things, the county claims the firms — including Purdue Pharma, which used to make OxyContin — engaged in deceptive marketing practices.

This is the latest in a series of lawsuits against the drug makers from states and other governments.

Jeremy Duda, associate editor of the Arizona Mirror has written about this, and joined The Show to talk about it.
