Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio may be one step closer to getting his criminal conviction of racial profiling overturned.

The U.S. Justice Department says  it will not block the appointment of a special prosecutor in the case of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s pardon. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled earlier that a DOJ special prosecutor can defend a lower court judge’s ruling that Arpaio’s pardon does not erase his conviction.

So what does that actually mean? J. Cabou, partner with law firm Perkins Coie, explained it on The Show.
