In his inauguration speech earlier this week, Gov. Doug Ducey put his priorities for education and reigning in government spending back to back. Meanwhile, education advocates are demanding more funding for Arizona schools.
On Friday morning the Arizona Education Association and others held a news conference outside the State Capitol to call on lawmakers to adopt dedicated funding for public education.
Prior to this, on Thursday, Expect More Arizona released a road map for education created by more than 80 organizations and businesses. It outlines short-term, mid-term and long-term goals for education in the state — from preschool to higher ed.
