Rebekah Rolland Of Run Boy Run On First Solo Album, 'Seed & Silo'

Arizona’s own bluegrass, Americana quartet Run Boy Run has made a name for themselves around the country in the last decade with their old-time sound, tight harmonies and three strong female voices.

They are a family band made up of two sets of siblings and, now, a husband and wife. The Show got a chance to sit down with that husband-and-wife pair, Matt and Rebekah Rolland.

Rebekah is out with her first solo project — "Seed & Silo."

The album is the result of a residency she recently completed for the National Parks Service. For two weeks last summer, Rebekah and Matt lived in a trailer on Homestead National Monument in Southeast Nebraska, and she wrote this album, which is based on Willa Cather’s prairie trilogy — "My Antonia," "Oh Pioneers" and "Song of the Lark" — which were set in that vast landscape.

Rebekah and Matt Rolland are playing Friday night at The Newton at Changing Hands in Phoenix.
