The political power of evangelical Christians has been a long-time force in the U.S., beginning with the election of Ronald Reagan as president in 1980.
Groups like the Moral Majority and Focus on the Family mobilized evangelicals to vote for what they called “family values” candidates, who usually were Republican nominees.
But as fewer young voters identify as evangelicals, is their political influence as strong as it used to be?
