Former state legislator Don Shooter has filed a lawsuit claiming his rights were violated. He’s seeking unspecified damages in a lawsuit alleging then-House Speaker J.D. Mesnard and Gov. Doug Ducey’s former Chief of Staff Kirk Adams conspired against him.
Former Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne is representing Shooter.
"The courts have the jurisdiction to enforce the basic requirement that no person shall be deprived of life, liberty or property without due process of law. Legislators don't give that up when they are elected to the Legislature," Horne said.
