State Rep. and Prescott Attorney David Stringer's political and professional future are under further scrutiny.
A new investigation by the State Bar of Arizona is looking into whether he hid a criminal record when he applied to practice law in Arizona.
Investigators plan to spend the next month reviewing documents filed when Stringer applied for his attorney's license back in 2004.
This follows the Phoenix New Times' discovery of Maryland court documents showing Stringer had criminal charges removed from his record after serving probation on a plea deal 11 years earlier. One of the charges expunged included child pornography.
Regardless, current applications to the State Bar in Arizona require applicants report all criminal records, whether convicted or not.
The Bar's investigation also follows two House Ethics Committee complaints researching whether Stringer made insensitive racial and ethnic statements last year.
He had been removed from serving on all but one House committee. On Wednesday, House Speaker Rusty Bowers removed him from his duties serving on the Government Committee.
