The Pentagon announced late Sunday it will send 3,750 more soldiers to bolster its forces along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Pentagon spokesman Bill Speaks said specifics would be announced at an "appropriate time" but declined to elaborate. He also said the soldiers will be extending 160 more miles of concertina wire between the ports of entry along the border at locations selected by Customs and Border Protection.
Current military units have extended concertina wire into rural parts of Arizona’s border and draped triple layers of the wire along the downtown border wall that divides Nogales, Arizona, from its neighbor, Nogales, Mexico.
