The Arizona Department of Public Safety is closing its only dispatch center north of Phoenix, one of three in the state.
The Northern Communication Center covers calls from six counties across northern Arizona, more than 70 percent of the state, according to the Arizona Daily Sun.
It’s closure is raising concern among dispatchers who told reporter Scott Buffon they were surprised by the announcement of the closure.
Buffon joined The Show to discuss the potential impact of this closure.
The Show also reached out to the Arizona Department of Public Safety for comment but have not heard back yet.
