At 100 Years Old, Grand Canyon National Park Is Experiencing Some Wear And Tear

This week, the Grand Canyon celebrated its centennial as a U.S. national park. But in that time, the park has developed a backlog of maintenance projects that need to get done.

The Grand Canyon isn't alone. Across the national park system, there were more than $11 billion worth of deferred maintenance projects in the 2017 fiscal year according to the National Park Service.

To learn more about the needs at Grand Canyon National Park, The Show spoke with Mindy Riesenberg, director of marketing and communications at Grand Canyon Conservancy, which is the non-profit partner of the park.
