Arizona Supreme Court Justice John Pelander To Retire At 68

Gov. Doug Ducey has had the opportunity to appoint three justices to the Arizona Supreme Court — two of those made possible by legislation to expand the court from five to seven members. Ducey will have another chance in the very near future, as Justice John Pelander has announced he’ll be leaving the court — two years earlier than the mandatory retirement age of 70.

Pelander has been a justice since 2009, when he was selected by Gov. Jan Brewer.

March 1 is Pelander’s last day on the court, and The Show caught up with him to talk about his career within Arizona’s judicial system.
