Arizona school districts are spending a little more than half of their dollars on instruction, but since 2004, the amount the state spends on instruction has dropped more than 4.5 percent.

Those are among the findings of a new report from the  Arizona Auditor General’s Office, which also said between the 2017 and 2018 fiscal years, the average teacher salary in Arizona increased by a little less than $600.

To talk more about these findings, Rebecca Gau, executive director of Stand For Children Arizona, joined The Show.
