New psychology research suggests that nationalism is something that is established very early in life.
New York University developmental psychologist Andrei Cimpian and his fellow researchers interviewed children ages 5 to 8, and found that kids see national identity as something that is biological and stable, something that can’t easily be shed — and kids often see it as separate from citizenship.
