Environmental Protection Agency Steps Aside, Rosemont Copper Mine Could Move Forward

The battle over whether to begin construction on the Rosemont Copper Mine in southern Arizona is still going strong, but it took a very different twist recently.

The Environmental Protection Agency had been opposed to the project for more than six years — much of that time during the Obama Administration — but now the EPA has essentially stepped aside as the Army Corps of Engineers has approved a vital permit that could lead to the mine's construction.

Tony Davis of The Arizona Daily Star has covered the Rosemont saga extensively and was with The Show.
