Has Sean Miller Coached His Last Game At The University Of Arizona?

In what may be the end of an era at the University of Arizona, the men’s basketball team bowed out of the PAC 12 tournament on Wednesday with a 78-65 loss to USC.

After the unceremonious defeat, the future of embattled head coach Sean Miller remains uncertain with the school’s links to a recruiting scandal.

Miller, 50, has repeatedly been linked to a federal case involving former assistant coach Emanuel “Book” Richardson, who pleaded guilty in January to accepting bribes to entice a recruit to the U of A.

Miller has been subpoenaed in a federal trial surrounding the case next month.

He declined again to comment on his status after the team’s first round ouster at the hands of USC, but after a loss to rival ASU in Tucson this past weekend, Miller addressed the home crowd with what sounded to some like a goodbye, telling the Wildcat faithful that it had been “an amazing honor to coach in McKale Center for the past 10 years.”

Unless they get an invite to a lesser tournament, the 2-time NCAA champion Wildcats will not play a postseason game for the first time since Lute Olson's first year as coach, 35 years ago in the 1983-84 season.
