Whether or not we’re aware of it, algorithms play an increasingly prominent role in our lives — from deciding what we watch on Netflix, to what news we see on Facebook, to what we buy on Amazon, to who we date on Tinder.
Because of this, according to professor Kartik Hosanagar, we need to become more aware of those algorithms and how they’re impacting society.
Hosanagar teaches technology and digital business at the Wharton School, and is author of the book " A Human’s Guide to Machine Intelligence."
He joined The Show to talk about the ways algorithms — and the ways we've used them — have evolved.
