Arizona Legislature Moving On After Rep. David Stringer's Resignation

Arizona Rep. David Stringer has officially resigned.

It was a surprise twist on Wednesday, a culmination of ongoing events since early last year, beginning with Stringer’s racial comments caught on tape by students at ASU.

Those recordings triggered an ethics complaint from Rep. Reginald Bolding, soon followed by a complaint filed by Mesa Rep. Kelly Townsend related to an investigation by the Phoenix New Times revealing Stringer’s past sex offense indictments from the 1980s. The charges moved the House Ethics Committee to ultimately appoint a special counsel.

Bolding joined The Show in January to share his thoughts on the seriousness of the charges.

To walk through how this case unfolded, The Show was joined by Howard Fischer of Capitol Media Services.

The Show also spoke to Rep. Townsend to hear her take on Stringer's resignation.
