A new delivery program launched on Northern Arizona University’s main campus where students can have their food delivered by a robot.
The 50 pound autonomous bots, developed by San Francisco-based Starship Technologies, have six wheels and can travel up to four miles per hour.
The delivery service first launched earlier this year at George Mason University before launching last week in Flagstaff. Students on NAU’s campus can get food from Einstein Bros. Bagels and Cobrizo Mexican Grill, with more restaurant options expected soon.
The 30 robot fleet comes to the state a year after Gov. Doug Ducey signed legislation authorizing personal delivery devices on sidewalks.
