New Research Suggests The Housing Market May Play Role In Voter Decisions

The Phoenix area was one of the hardest-hit regions of the country during the Great Recession and, more specifically, the housing foreclosure crisis.

Those circumstances found many homeowners underwater with their mortgages or forced them to move into rentals and give up property and — more metaphorically — the “American Dream.”

New research led by ASU associate professor Deirdre Pfeiffer indicates that a change in housing situations also affected how some people in Maricopa County voted in 2016.

Professor Pfeiffer joined The Show to talk about what the study  found.
