To Close, Or Not To Close? That Is The Question About The Southern Border

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump spoke to the press from the White House about his threat to close the entire U.S. southern border. But then the president reversed course just a few hours later, saying he felt Mexico was stepping up efforts to keep migrants from entering the U.S.

This came after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Trump’s own National Economic Council director both emphasized the potential for dire economic results if the border was closed.

So, where is the administration standing now? Is the threat of border closure still on the table?
