ADOT Seeks Public Comment On New Interstate 11 Stretch

A plan for a proposed interstate connecting Nogales to Wickenburg is in its first steps.

The Arizona Department of Transportation has completed a draft of an environmental impact statement for a proposed stretch of Interstate 11 and is seeking public comment.

The I-11 section would be about 400 feet wide, including shoulders, medians and other features, such as frontage roads. The study covered a 2,000 foot-wide area.

ADOT said I-11 is envisioned as a multi-use corridor that would provide a connection from Mexico to the Hoover Dam. The Arizona stretch would connect with the existing I-11 in Nevada.
