There is an ongoing controversy over free speech on the University of Arizona’s campus after the university’s president announced two students are being charged with misdemeanors after protesting a Border Patrol event on campus.

The students chanted “murder patrol” outside of the presentation, and followed the officers after they left campus. But now, many are speaking out against the university for pressing charges.

Last week, Arizona State University students marched in solidarity with the charged students, and a group of more than 70 UA professors are calling for the charges to be dropped.

Rachel Leingang covers higher education for the Arizona Republic and joined The Show to talk more about it.
